PURPOSE OF CONFERENCE Register now to participate in this opportunity to learn how other California Community College Banner users are taking advantage of the many facets of the Banner System, how they have solved problems you are facing, and how we can work together to make our Banner System implementations even more effective. This conference is designed to meet the interests and needs of all Banner users, including managers, supervisors, and staff.

CONFERENCE SCHEDULE AND PROGRAM The conference program will include presentations by district/college staff as well as SCT resource personnel. Details about Banner 5 will be explained, and successful implementations in California Community Colleges of selected Banner modules will be presented and discussed. Selected vendors will present their products and services. All attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions, make suggestions for Banner System enhancements, and propose topics for discussion at future conferences.

This presentation will cover how to install and configure Windows Terminal Services on a Windows 2000 server. Briefly discuss the hardware requirements for the server and the differences between using the Microsoft TS Client and a web browser. Discuss how SMCCCD is currently using Terminal Services. Demonstrate how to connect to that service using both the TS Client and a web browser (Internet Explorer). If time allows, explanation of Microsoft VPN Server to allow secure connections from remote locations to your Windows Terminal Server.

An overview of the methodology at VCCCD to implement Oracle Reports interfaced to the Banner application. The presentation will include a demonstration of how to create an Oracle Report using the Wizard in Oracle Reports 6.0, how to integrate a locally-developed report with Banner baseline, and a description of the modifications VCCCD has made to improve the integration of Oracle Reports.

Part 1. Sample SQLPLUS program running under job submission using BANNER role level security. Techniques shown: BANNER job submission, BANNER role level security, repeating parameters with wildcard values, SCT function f_split_fields, temporary work tables to simplify coding logic, comma delimited files for output, and report files for output. Part 2. CLPCCD modifications to GJAJOBS.fmb, GJIREVO.fmb, GJAPCTL.fmb, and gjajobs.shl that expand the use of the DATABASE printer option to include all output to all jobs. Modifications made to add a new printer option called MAIL which e-mail output to users.

Two representatives from the State Chancellor's Office will offer a presentation on the Staff Data portion of MIS reporting. Some data elements as well as reporting dates have changed. If you were unable to attend one of the recent workshops put on by the State Chancellor's Office, this is an opportunity to hear important highlights from those workshops. SCT is working on Banner handling MIS. SCT representatives will attend this session and will be open to user input.

It will include a review of normal procedures and then focus on specific examples of problem cases. This session should be of value to both functional and technical people.
